Duty Free
Duty Free Uruguay approached us to renew the identity of its duty-free retail spaces across the Uruguayan airports where it operates. For this rebranding project, developed together with Guillermo Brea, we started by understanding Duty Free as part of the journey: a space that serves as the last point of contact with the place of departure and the first point of contact with the destination upon arrival.
We drew inspiration from the architecture of the airport’s arches to develop the brand’s main elements, evoking takeoff and landing. Their geometric curves become the central graphic device: incorporated into the typography through the distinctive gestures of the letters Y and F, they also give rise to a system of dynamic patterns and graphic textures that convey movement.
The result is a distinctive and recognizable identity, rooted in the forms of the space it inhabits while also representing the fluidity of travel and the cosmopolitan experience associated with Duty Free.
